Application Documents-Selection and Evaluation of Candidates

The candidate submits the following supporting documents:

  • Application form

  • Statement of purpose for participating in the MSc program

  • Copy of degree (or degrees) from Greek of Foreign Higher Education Institutions (Universities) or  Technological Education Institutes.

  • English language certificate, level at least B2  ("good knowledge"). In the event that English is not the candidate's native language, it is certified either by a degree from a corresponding foreign language university department or by possession of a certificate/diploma in English corresponding to level equal or higher to B2. The level of foreign language knowledge is proven by the following ways:

    a) National certificate (according to law 2740/1999 as replaced by par. 19 of article 13 of 
    law 3149/2003)
    b) National Degree in Foreign Language and Philology or a Degree in Foreign Languages Translation and Interpretation ​​of the country or equivalent degree from foreign universities
    c) Bachelor's degree, undergraduate or postgraduate diploma or doctoral degree from any recognized foreign institution of higher education
    d) High school diploma equivalent to Greek Secondary Education diplomas, as long as it has been obtained after regular study of at least six years abroad. Teaching proficiency license
    does not prove knowledge of a foreign language (according to PD 347/2003). Applicants who hold the relevant license must provide a certified copy and exact translation of the degree on the basis of which the foreign language teaching proficiency license was issued.

  • Two (2) letters of recommendation. The number and type of letters of recommendation (from faculty members, employers) will be determined by the decision of the Coordinating Committee and its approval by the Assembly of the relevant Department, all of the above will be mentioned in the announcement.
  • Curriculum vitae (CV), detailing the candidate's studies, research and professional experience, scientific activity and publications (if any)
  • ID card / passport photocopy (both sides)

The candidates’ selection will be made by evaluation of their supporting documents and an interview performed by a three-member Admissions Selection Committee (ASC). The selection criteria of the candidates and their relative weighting are the following:

  1. Degree or Diploma grade (10%)

  2. Adequate knowledge of the English language at B2 level (10%)

  3. Letters of recommendation (5%)

  4. Interview with ASC members (50%)

  5. Previous professional experience (duration and type) (5%)

  6. Research experience (10%)

  7. Publications and scientific performance (announcements-publications in Greek and international conferences and journals) (10%)
